We are excited to bring you some of the best and most prestigious equestrian competition in the country. Starting in 1945 several of Houstons visionaries had an idea to build a hospital that would be just for children. That was a very new concept back then and it was the beginnings of what would be Texas Childrens Hospital the very first pediatric hospital in Texas and the South. The dream was that No child should be turned away and thus the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show a spectacular multi-breed horse show was created as a way to raise the seed money to begin this project and our journey began. Several years later as the hospital grew the Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms within the hospital were built and we added them to our charitable giving. These rooms provide a respite for families with critically ill children. This is so important to those families who are already going through enough. Recently as the Texas Medical Center grew and became more challenging Pin Oak began supporting Candelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance by paying the parking for families at Texas Childrens Hospital. SO HERE WE ARE NOW over 71 years later. The legacy continues with millions of dollars being donated to our charities almost a quarter of a million dollars last year alone through the charitable giving of our generous sponsors and loyal riders and trainers. And as Texas Childrens Hospital expands to the Woodlands so Pin Oak expands its charitable giving. Seven years ago we received the first USEF Heritage Horse Show designation in the country. In addition we have been named one of the top 25 horse shows in North America by the North American Riders Group NARG and last year we received the USEF Members Choice Award for the top Premier Horse Show in our zone. We pledge that we will do our best to make showing at Pin Oak a wonderful experience. Exhibitors vendors equestrian professionals volunteers sponsors and spectators all come together to make this an amazing two weeks. We at Pin Oak welcome you to our 71st show a show that promises to be the best one yet We are passionate about what we do and we promise to give you the finest that we have to give. Lastly I would like to wish the very best of luck to everyone and look forward to meeting you again at the 2016 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. He adored his only daughter Josephine an accomplished equestrian and horse lover. Mr. Jim had another passion a desire to help sick and critically ill children. From those two loves came the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show and the charter of the Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston TX. First the Pin Oak Stables a world class venue was built especially for Josephine to care for and show horses. The first Pin Oak show opened on May 26 1945 and was billed as the social event of Houston as well as one of the top horse competitions in the United States. Houstons high society attended. Ladies and gentlemen dressed in their finest and filled the coveted box seats to watch some of the best American Saddlebreds hunters jumpers and ponies from all over the world compete for top prizes. The second phase of Mr. Abercrombies master plan was to help build the first pediatric hospital in Houston where no sick child would be turned away and to make the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show a benefactor. Using his social and business connections the hospital became a reality. In 1952 Jim Abercrombie and his wife Lillie donated the first 1million to begin construction of Texas Childrens Hospital today one of the best pediatric hospitals in the world. Now in its 71st year the Show remains an elegant equestrian spectacluar devoted to the love of horses and to supporting Texas Childrens Hospital and associate charities Ronald McDonald House Houston Family Rooms and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance for their parking program in the Texas Childrens Cancer Center. We continue to grow our legacy of giving as the hospital grows. With support spanning from the Main Campus to the West Campus and now to The Woodlands Campus slated to open in 2017 the iconic horse show stays focus on its original mission - to help sick children. She was diagnosed at birth with cystic fibrosis which is a life-threatening genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breathe. People with cystic fibrosis CF experience a slow deterioration of lung function which may continue for many years. The timing of death is difficult to predict which is why many CF patients die in hospitals. Lung transplantation is a viable option for patients with CF although it must be acknowledged that not all patients are suitable and organ availability remains an issue. The disease has rapidly progressed in Angelina and she is now at an end-stage requiring a double- lung transplant to survive. Although she faces physical challenges Angelina enjoys bowling swimming swinging on the swing hula hoop and someday hopes she can enjoy sleepovers with friends. She likes to color watch scary movies play X-box with her brother and enjoys Karaoke night. Whenever the transplant team allows her the opportunity to go home she enjoys spending time with her one year old puppy Hope and visiting family. Angelina has a love for all animals and has set her mind to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Angelina and her mom have temporarily relocated to Houston and has been on the waiting list since October 17th 2014. While she prepares her body for this intense surgery Ronald McDonald House Houston has been an enormous blessing for Angelina and her mom. The events and activities provided by different organizations at RMH are wonderful distractions from this overwhelming challenge in their lives. All the wonderful volunteers who make this such a comfortable place to stay are truly amazing. They are most grateful to this wonderful organization they call home away from home. Here is their citation. The Heritage designation is a honor bestowed by USEF the governing body of the equestrian sport and is the highest honor that can be achieved by a horse show in the United States. The designation of a USEF Heritage Competition is reserved for competitions that have been in existence for 25 years or more promoted and grown the equestrian sport and made contributions to the community outside the gates of the horse show by achieving maintaining and promoting the equestrian ideals of sportsmanship and competition. Only 14 horse shows of the more than 2600 USEF competitions across the United States can claim this distinction. These shows have become a part of the fabric of the American showing scene. With their endurance dedication to philanthropic efforts and impact on their communities they are perfect examples of what we look for when designating Heritage Competitions. Born in 1946 in Lisburn Northern Ireland Dr. Bradley obtained his medical degree in 1969 from the medical school of The Queenss University in Belfast. In 1974 he settled in Houston and joined the teaching faculty at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. After several years in academic life he felt the need to establish a more direct relationship with his patients and so decided to enter private medical practice. In partnership with Dr. David Stein he established a medical practice the Lung Center and for some 35 years in the Houston and Pasadena areas they cared for their beloved patients. Dr. Bradley loved Houston from quiet walks in Hermann Park to attending and singing along at the many performances of the Messiah to summer evenings in the Miller Theatre. Even in illness he stayed in Houston among his dear friends. He was an outgoing gregarious energetic gentleman who loved the company of friends especially if there was music and a sing-along involved. The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is proud to present the Brian Bradley M.D. Memorial Trophy for the High Point Horse and Rider of the Brian Bradley M.D. Grand Prix Series. How fitting that Dr. Bradleys Grand Prix competition is in the Irish Day Arena since he was Irish to the core He would be pleased to know that his memory is being honored at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show a Houston tradition with a legacy of giving to the community a value which Dr. Bradley embraced and lived every day of his life. Horses were Sherres lifelong passion and led to her successful career of riding training horses and teaching students. She took great pride in developing her adult and child riders to their fullest potential. With a special love for Hunter Derby classes she beamed with great pride when one of the horses she helped form into a top competitor would do well in an International Hunter Derby competition across America. Sherre was an avid competitor herself. She and her clients at Rendezvous Farm brought home many winning ribbons both nationally and locally. Sherre touched many lives with her brilliant smile and positive attitude in teaching life skills as well as horsemanship. With an amazing ability to communicate with horses and a mentoring spirit Sherre was able to create winning relationships for her clients and their horses and left an impression that was bigger than the show ring. It is an honor for Pin Oak to help celebrate the life of a special lady fantastic horsewoman and a great friend - Sherre Sims. The breed was created in America and the registry dates back to 1891. The versatile Saddlebred is known for its stamina and endurance and competes both under saddle and in driving classes. They are best known however as the Peacocks of the Showring. At Pin Oak you will see saddlebreds compete in the following types of classes Pleasure Equitation Three-gaited Five-gaited and Fine Harness. English or Western Pleasure Division These horses are all shown with a full mane and tail which must be carried naturally and any device that alters the natural carriage of the tail is prohibited. They must give the appearance of being a pleasure to ride and easy ground covering movement is desired. Manners and suitability as a pleasure mount are paramount in this division. A at walk is a requirement. Five Gaited The five gaited horse is shown with a full mane and tail and judged at the walk trot and canter plus two man-made gaits the slow gait a four-beat gait with high front action and rack a gait with all- around action and speed. They should have a springy movement and extreme brilliance. The five-gaited horse is either a Saddlebred or National Show Horse. Three-Gaited The three-gaited horse performs the three natural gaits walk an animated trot a two-beat diagonal gait and canter. The trot of the three-gaited horse is a slower and more collected than that of the five-gaited horse and should be true and high in action. Equitation Equitation is horsemanship or the art of riding and showing a horse. The rider only is judged on hands seat legs basic position and the ability to make the horse perform any gait or test called for by the judge. Saddleseat equitation is the type of English riding done with a at English saddle and a four-reined bridle. Hunt seat equitation uses a jumping saddle and riders may be judged either on the at or over fences. SOME COMMON TERMS CLEAN OR CLEAR ROUND When a horse completes the jumper course within the time allowed without incurring jumping faults it is called a clean round. When more than one horse goes clean a jump-off is held to determine the winner. COURSE In each class over fences competitors must negotiate the jumps in a prescribed order. Spectators who hear a course described as a perfect course P.C. have seen an event in which the number of riders who qualify for the jump-off is the same as the number of ribbons offered in that class. No two courses are ever the same. Courses for each class are posted in advance near the in-gates so that riders and trainers may memorize them. It is the role of the course designer to establish the degree of difficulty in the course. The Grand Prix is the highest level of show jumping competition so the fences are larger and the course is longer and KNOW YOUR HORSES To the casual visitor the equestrian world can seem confusing even sometimes a little bit crazy If this is your first visit to a horse show welcome we invite you to get to know some of the breeds and the types of competitions and find out about some of the customs history and traditions - we hope it will help to enhance your enjoyment of the Pin Oak Show. 91T H E P I N O A K C H A R I T Y H O R S E S H O W P R O G R A M 2 0 1 6 PIN OAK 2016THE HORSES more challenging. There are usually 12 to 18 fences on the Grand Prix course. EQUITATION Equitation classes are classes in which the rider not the horse is judged. The rider must demonstrate good seat and hands and sufficient management of the horse to perform the required tests either over fences or on the flat in a smooth controlled and accurate manner. Equitation classes are graded with entrants restricted by age and previous winnings. The grading sequence from easiest to most difficult is lead Line Short Stirrup Maiden Novice Limit Intermediate and Open. GAITS The different paces at which the horse travels are the walk trot canter gallop and varying speeds of each. HUNTER Hunters are judged on the style in which they negotiate obstacles as well as on their ability to do so. They should display jumping ability manners style an even pace and quality. They are generally Thoroughbreds or part Thoroughbreds and originally were meant Fine Harness The fine harness horse was the Sunday-Go-To-Meeting horse three generations ago. These horses show in light harness and overcheck bridle with a regulation show buggy. They are shown at an animated walk and a brisk showy park trot. Movement in these gaits should be springy and free with high front and rear leg action. This horse always carries a full mane and tail. Hackney Pony The Hackney is a breed of carriage horse or pony that originated in England and is one of the oldest breeds in the horse kingdom. The high stepper of the show ring these ponies have extreme action both in front and behind. Judged for brilliance and show ring presence the Hackney presents a picture of sheer daintiness and perfection being driven to a four-wheeled vehicle called a viceroy. The Hackney is shown only at the trot - the park trot and the faster Show your Pony gait. Roadsters The Roadster Horse belonged to the country doctor or the itinerant preacher in days gone by. They are typically of American Standardbred breeding and are shown to a four- wheeled wagon a two-wheeled bike or under saddle. Drivers or riders may be dressed in racing silks. Roadsters are shown at the jog and road gait. These classes are some of the most exciting for exhibitors as they turn it on as if on a race track. Speed form conformation soundness and expert driving are essential. Pleasure Driving This division is open to mares and geldings shown by an amateur. Show Hunters jump naturally- styled fences simulating obstacles that might be encountered in the hunting field. Both Working and Conformation Hunters are judged on their ability and performance. However the Conformation Hunter is also judged on its physical attributes and beauty. Hunter classes are divided according to several criteria- Age and Experience of rider Junior Childrens and Amateur Hunters Size of Pony Small Medium and Large Pony Hunter and Experience of the Horse Pre-Green First-Year Green Second-Year Green Regular Hunter. JUMPERS Jumpers are judged solely on their ability to jump obstacles. They need not be anyspecial breed or size nor do they need to be beautiful or well-mannered. Style doesnt count Jumper classes are purely athletic tests of speed and strength. Jumper courses are very demanding calling for technical accuracy on the part of the rider and absolute obedience on the part of the horse. They are required to complete a course of approximately 16 obstacles ranging in height from 36 to 5 or more with spreads of up to 6 feet depending on the division in which they compete. JUMP-OFF All horses with clean first rounds jump a shortened course against the clock to determine the winner. JUMPING ORDER - ORDER-OF-GO The jumping order or starting order is determined in a drawing before the event so that each competitor has an equal chance of attaining a favorable starting position. Riders near the end of the starting order have the advantage of seeing how the first riders complete the course. Hunters Hunter is a discipline not a breed. Hunter classes are open to all horses regardless of breed size or sex. The Thoroughbred is thought of as the typical hunter but European Warmbloods American Quarter Horses Appaloosas Paints Morgans Arabians and various crosses are seen in the hunter ring. Any horse that is considered a sport horse would not be out of place in the hunter division. Hunters should have a smooth even jumping style and should jump without hestitation or change of pace. The mane is always braided and often the tail. The tack and riders attire should reect the traditional custom of the fox hunt with simple leather bridles and jumping saddles and riders wearing hunt caps and conservative colors. The jumps or fences used in hunter classes simulate the type of obstacles that would be encountered in the hunt field such as posts and rails brush and stone walls. The hunter is judged on how he jumps the course pace style rhythm manners and general appearance and suitability. Undue speed bucking refusals and knockdown of any rails or obstacles against him. Light touches are not counted except when elimination is difficult. Jumpers Jumper classes are open to all breeds of horses regardless of size or sex. Classes are divided by fence height prize money won and or rider status amateur junior or open. Jumpers are scored strictly on performace - jumping style and conformation does not count. Mane braiding is not mandatory. Various types of bits and bridles are accepable. Bell boots galloping boots shin boots and wraps are allowed. Jumper classes are among the most popular with spectators because they provide thrilling entertainment and the judging is simple. It originated in the Iberian peninsula which includes both Spain and Portugal. The name Andalusian is derived from the southern Spanish region of Andalucia while Portugal calls these horses Lusitanos. Although the population of Andalusian horses in the United Sates is small compared to other breeds it has a reputation image and mystique that is enormous. Andalusians are known for their intelligent and kind disposition along with strength natural collection and agility. In its native lands it is the only breed brave enough to face the fighting bull. The International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association is the American registry for Audalusian Half-Andalusian and Lusitano horses and sponsors shows for these breeds that feature them in American show horse disciplines. Open and Amateur Halter classes Dressage Suitability Western Pleasure saddle seat Country English Pleasure and Driving. In Native Attire and Doma Vaquera horses are exhibited in garb and tack of their native country. RIDERS ATTIRE Breeches and boots a ratcatcher hunt coat and hunt cap are all worn by the riders. Breeches are the tight fitting pants worn under leather boots. A ratcatcheris another name for the riding shirt worn under the hunt coat or jacket. It is common to see Grand Prix riders wearing a scarlet coat. A blue collar on the coat signifies that the rider has competed for the United States Equestrian Team. Other hunt coat colors are blue dark green or black. The hunt cap is a type of hard helmet worn by the rider. A rider may also elect to wear spurs or carry a crop or stick to encourage the horse over the fences. ROUND OR TRIP Terms used to describe a riders turn in each class. STRIDE The amount of ground covered by a horse in one step at the canter. The average horses stride is 12 feet. Distances between fences are set accordingly by the course designer. TACK The equipment worn by the horse depends on the needs of the animal. The saddle and bridle are the staples. Other equipment may be added such as a martingale which attaches to the saddle and bridle to keep the horses head from raising too high. Horses may also wear boots or bandages on their legs for support or protection. WALKING THE COURSE Riders and horses may not practice on a course prior to the actual competition but riders are permitted to walk the route pacing off the number of strides between jumps and examining the obstacles closely. It is a course designers job to challenge the ability of the horses and riders. Riders and trainers must identify these challenges and develop strategies accordingly. KNOW YOUR HORSES 94 T H E P I N O A K C H A R I T Y H O R S E S H O W P R O G R A M 2 0 1 6 PIN OAK 2016 THE HORSES A Hunter should display the manners and qualities best suited for a ride to hounds. The horse should be attractive with correct and proportional conformation and should be well turned out. A show Hunter should be completely clean and his coat shiny. His mane should be braided with many small and evenly spaced braids and his tail braided and well combed out. It is important for the tack saddle and bridle to be clean and well fitted and any metal such as bits or stirrups should be well shined. The horses movement is an important part of the presentation. He should move freely with little action or bending of the knees less action conserves energy for the long days in the hunt field. The horse should be light and graceful across the ground. A relaxed horse with a long low neck and a good expression ears forward and alert is the most desirable. The most important consideration when judging Hunters is jumping style. The horse should jump with his front legs folded high and evenly. His head and neck should stretch out and down to ensure a well balanced jump. It is important that the horse jumps the jump straight and in the center. His expression should say that he enjoys his job ears forward and his jumping should appear effortless. THE HUNTER COURSE AND JUMPS The Hunter course is designed to simulate actual field hunting conditions. A typical Hunter course is composed of approximately eight jumps. The jumps consist of natural colored rails gates brush and walls. The course includes verticals and oxers. The course may include an in-and-out combination- two jumps placed to allow only one or two strides between the jumps which simulates jumping out of a field crossing a road and jumping into another field-a situation that frequently happens on a real fox hunt. JUDGING A HUNTER ROUND Judging a Hunter begins the moment the horse and rider enter the ring and continues until they leave. This is his round. During a riders opening circle the judges get their first look at the horse. Here is where careful turnout of a horse and rider are key. The most important parts of the round are the consistent jumping efforts. The horse should clear each jump easily with style and in good form. The pace from the beginning to end should remain about the same with any sudden changes penalized. The horse is expected to stay in the center of each jump and to move easily through the corners. The horse with the smoothest round and the best jumping effort should end up the winner. MAJOR FAULTS Knees pointing down when jumping Running away or out of control Sudden or severe pace change Hanging a leg when jumping Cross canter or wrong lead Bucking or kicking Rail down Refusal MINOR FAULTS Mouth open high head Slight rubs on the jumps Not in the center of the jump Pace changes or uneven pace Uneven front legs twisting body Unhappy expression ears back tail swishing RINGSIDE - THE HUNTERS 95T H E P I N O A K C H A R I T Y H O R S E S H O W P R O G R A M 2 0 1 6 PIN OAK 2016THE HORSES Jumpers are judged solely on their ability to jump obstacles. They are required to complete a course of approximately 16 obstacles ranging in height from 36 to 5 or more with spreads of up to 6 depending on the division in which they compete. SCORING Horse and rider must jump the fences in a designated sequence. The goal is to cover the course with no faults within the time allowed. The horse that completes the course with fewest penalties and in the fastest time is the winner. Style is not considered and does not affect scoring in Jumper competitions. FAULT The penalty assessed in Jumper classes for mistakes such as knockdowns refusals and exceeding the time allowed is called a fault. For easy reference faults are assigned according to the table below. JUMPS Obstacles are brightly colored both for aesthetics and to add difficulty to the course. Some course designers believe the colors and patterns painted on the obstacles affect the way the horses take the jump. The type of construction of a particular fence also determines its difficulty. A fence that is composed of just a few rails for example appears more airy and is more difficult for a horse to negotiate than a solid looking wall or gate. The general types of jumps in competition are a straight or vertical fence and a spread wide fence or oxer. The degree of difficulty of a jump is determined by its height width construction and its placement in relation to other jumps on the course. In competition a variety of fences can be used including walls panels gates oxers water jumps combinations banks and ditches. Combination This is a series of jumps usually two or three placed in a row- that test the horses ability to jump successively after one or two strides. Another name for a combination of two fences is in-and-out. Oxer This is a single fence composed of two or three elements to produce a spread. Types of oxers include ramp elements ascend in height square elements are at equal height and Swedish elements are crossed in an X shape. Vertical This is a straight up and down fence of any height without spread or width to it. Although it looks relatively simple it is actually one of the most difficult for a horse to jump. Honored with nine other philanthropic women and the 2016 Ambassador Phoebe Tudor it was a night to remember. It was an especially fitting year for Lynn to be recognized for her years of fundraising and leadership since another long-time Pin Oak supporter was co-chair of the event - Jana Arnoldy. Jana is a Pin Oak exhibitor and sponsor and alongside her sister-in-law Susan Arnoldy Hansen she created a magical Winter Ball themed Age of Aquarius. Lynns family friends and Pin Oak board members and staff were on hand to celebrate all that she has accomplished - millions being raised for our charities. Congratulations Lynn and more than well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS TO LYNN WALSH 2016 ABC-13 WOMAN OF DISTINCTION Walsh Albert has provided HVAC ductwork for some of the most visible landmark buildings constructed or remodeled in Houston over the last thirty years. At Walsh Albert we strive for excellence in everything we do. Our reputation for performance safety and value engineering on projects both difficult and routine is unparalleled in south Texas. Also unparalleled is the incomparable Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. Congratulations on the 69th year from the Walsh family. How do the horses get here Where do they sleep Why do they wear shoes How tall are those jumps ... are just a few of the questions from Pin Oaks inquisitive visitors that get answered on EDUCATION DAY. When the final bell rings for the day at Pin Oak U the students take away new knowledge on horses riders equine vets equestrian sports and a memorable experience Students arrive on buses and are greeted in the parking lot by volunteer Pin Oak hostesses with a quick lesson in horse show etiquette when to clap when to remain quiet and the importance of staying with their assigned group as they tour the facility. The children are divided into six equal groups to tour six different areas of learning for 15 minutes at a time. The lessons include a visit with the farrier a talk with the veterinarian a horse trailer tour a tour of the barns a firsthand look at the jumps that are used and of course an opportunity to pet a real live UK Shetland Pony that was originally bred to work in coal mines in the UK and later the United States of America. Just a month before Pin Oak 2015 she suffered a riding accident that resulted in a broken scapula ribs and a punctured lung. After three weeks she was back on a horse and a week after that she was back in the winners circle at the 70th Pin Oak Charity Horse Show where she won the 30000 Hildebrand Fund Grand Prix aboard MTM Centano. The class was the featured event on March 21 in Katy Texas and drew a field of 20 to contest a challenging course set by Alan Wade. In the three horse jump-off Matt Cyphert was the pace setter with Lochinvar. Daniel Bedoya returned next with Quattro and went for the victory. Their eight faults in 38.79 left them third however. Fenney and Centano then jumped a smooth and fast clear round in 38.22 seconds to clinch the win. Fenney who has made winning at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show a habit was thrilled to be back. Pin Oaks great I love the crowds its awesome and the kids are so cute she said. Its an old-time horse show and they do a great job. And when they have great course designers its nice. Ringside show supporters filled the Sponsors Club for a fabulous gala and spectators filled the arena seats for an exciting night. MTM Cheshire a 6-year-old warmblood soared to scores of 92 in both the Classic and Handy rounds to clinch the win in the featured hunter class on March 26 at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. Any time a horse jumps that high and hard thats awesome said Fenney of Cheshires performances. Thats just really fun and he gives a great effort every time. He does it so easily that he just has a good time out there. I think thats why his attitude is so greathes just happy to do his job. MTM Cheshire stepped into the show ring for the first time at Pin Oak in the derby with the gusty winds of a cold front blowing through that undid many more seasoned horses. Going into the Handy round on top Fenney admitted that she was nervous. The jumpers are less nerve wracking because you dont have to be so precise she said. Riding the hunters makes you ride well because you have to be perfect. You cant be a little this or a little that and still win. MTM Cheshire fulfilled the mission of a Pin Oak derby win for Fenny and MTM Farm. The evening event was the featured jumper class on March 26 duringWeek II of the 70th Pin Oak Charity Horse Show presented by Irish Day Farm. Bedoya of Bedoya Training Stables was thrilled with his 9-year- old Dutch Warmblood by Quasimodo Z who is just starting to come into his own. The pair posted the fastest jump-off time of 47.16 seconds in a competitive 10-horse tiebreaker which featured some veteran competitors including Tracy Fenneys MTM Timon. The jump-off worked perfectly. He did everything I wanted him to do said Bedoya who went sixth in the order. I was a little scared on a few of the turns because hes such a big horse. DS Holdings LLCs SL Shoe Guru placed a close second with Whitney Owens 48.00 seconds and Tiny Tim and Brian Locke claimed third in 48.63 seconds for owner Douglass Murray Ackermann. In the end Bedoyas jump-off ride left all the rails in the cups and none of the followers could catch his time. Bedoya said the first-round course designed by Bob Ellis was really challenging. He was surprised there were 10 clears in the 27-horse field and was happy to be among them. Bedoya reflected This is the first time Ive had a horse like this so its especially fun to win here at Pin Oak.
